The doorbell rings and it's not who you booked — here's how to make sure that never happens.
You've picked your performer, shown the whole group his photos, and the excitement is building. Then the doorbell rings and someone completely different is standing there. It happens more often than you'd think — and almost always comes down to one of these seven mistakes.
None of them are hard to avoid once you know to look out for them, and asking the right questions upfront takes about five minutes. Here's what actually trips people up when booking a male entertainer, and how to sidestep each one.
If you've chosen a specific performer, get written confirmation that he's the one who'll actually show up — or that you'll get a refund if he doesn't. Plenty of operators will happily take your booking and send whoever's free on the night instead, and if an agency won't put that guarantee in writing, take it as a warning sign. The cheapest option isn't always the one that shows up. Some agencies undercut on travel fees to win your booking, then quietly bump you if a better-paying job comes in closer to the date. A reasonable, upfront travel fee is usually what keeps a performer committed to your booking rather than looking for something better. It's tempting to hold out for a very specific look, but personality is what actually makes a show memorable — plenty of the most requested guys aren't the most conventionally good-looking, they're just genuinely great performers. "Full nude" means different things to different performers — some go all the way for the whole room, others keep it to the bride. If it matters to your group either way, confirm it when you book rather than assuming.
Friday and Saturday nights get booked out well in advance, especially for popular performers. If you've got your heart set on a specific guy, lock him in early rather than leaving it to the week of the event. If you're hosting somewhere other than a private home or hotel room, check the venue is comfortable with the level of nudity you're after — some licensed venues have restrictions, and it's much easier to sort out beforehand than on the night.
It sounds obvious, but double-check your address and contact number when you book, and actually read your confirmation email. A performer who can't find you or reach you on the night is one of the most avoidable — and most common — reasons a booking goes wrong.
