Fair enough — those routines are classics for a reason, and you genuinely can't go wrong booking one. But if your bride has a favourite film, sport, or fictional character, there's a decent chance one of our guys can make it happen.
The trick is knowing what's actually possible before you set your heart on a specific idea, so we've put together a rundown of the male stripper costumes that get requested most, what's genuinely achievable, and a few things worth knowing before you ask.
Fireman, cop, cowboy and tradie routines remain the most requested for a reason — they're instantly recognisable, easy to play up for laughs, and every one of our guys has at least one of these in his kit. Where it gets fun is when a group has a specific idea in mind. We've had requests for a favourite football team's kit, a well-loved superhero, and even a wizard costume, wand and all, for a bride who was a little too enthusiastic about a certain boy-wizard franchise. If your Hen has a soft spot for a schoolboy character with a scar and a broomstick, we can probably make it happen — and yes, it's exactly as funny as it sounds.
We've also had requests that lean more towards a specific sitcom character, a particular decade's fashion disaster, a doctor, a sportsman, or a costume built entirely around an in-joke only the bridal party understands. If it's genuinely important to the group and there's enough lead time, it's always worth asking — you might be surprised what's possible.
Keep in mind a performer can only wear what's listed on his own profile, so a specific costume and a specific stripper is a package deal — check what he's actually got before you fall in love with the combination. And because our guys are usually booked back-to-back on weekends, elaborate makeup or costume changes take real prep time, so the more notice you can give us, the better the result.
It's also worth remembering the routine itself matters more than the outfit. A great costume with a flat performance is forgettable — a decent costume with a genuinely entertaining guy behind it is what people are still talking about the next morning. For groups after something a bit more theatrical, a male and female double act is also an option with select performers — a step up in production value from a standard solo routine, and a great fit for mixed groups where there's something for everyone to enjoy.
